Rise Per4ormance Rugby is a high-level coaching program designed to develop the next generation of rugby players through expert-led, age-appropriate training.

Starting with our minis, we create a fun, supportive environment where young players learn essential rugby skills, building fundamentals, confidence, movement, safe contact, and a love for the game. Our goal is to help kids fall in love with the game while developing strong foundations for future success.

Our youth coaching prepares players for the next level with Strength, speed & conditioning, advanced skill training, position-specific drills, game IQ, mental toughness, and physical development to match their rugby goals.

The Team

  • The program is led by Rudi Brits, a seasoned professional who played rugby at the highest level for 17 years. Rudi coached the Bayside men from 2021-2023 and has been in charge of the Bayside youth, Van South and PRC rugby teams’ Strength & Conditioning programs for the past 3 years.

In 2024, he successfully ran the highly acclaimed Animus Rugby Camps, known for their elite training and player development. With Rudi’s leadership, players can expect world-class coaching, mentorship, and a serious boost in confidence and skill.

  • Liam has been involved in rugby for over 15 years—as a player and coach. He began his playing career with his local club, Bayside, and went on to represent British Columbia at the U17 and U18 levels. His passion for the game also took him overseas, where he played for Hove Rugby Club in Brighton, England.

Liam started coaching at just 17 and has since led multiple programs across the Lower Mainland. His coaching experience includes serving as head coach for the Earl Marriott Secondary Senior Girls team, Bayside U18 Girls, the VRU South U18 Women’s Representative team, Bayside U14 Boys, and the Tamanawis Secondary Senior Boys team.

  • Our Program Designer and part-time head coach, Giuseppe Du Toit, will be dropping in from time to time with his Canada rugby commitments.

Currently a professional player with the Miami Sharks in Major League Rugby. Giuseppe represented Canada at the 2019 Rugby World Cup and previously played with the Toronto Arrows. With his high-level playing experience and passion for youth development, Giuseppe brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and elite training insight to the program.Design Director
